FINALE or The Death of The Author
Part of AMBruno’s final project, Finale. Launched and preformed at Tate Britain 2025.
The death of the author is the price paid for the birth of the reader.
Pushing The Margins
This book is part of AMBruno’s 2022 Margins project.
Every strong point of view creates opposition, creating ‘us’ and ‘other’. This marginalises parts of society
who become invisible, without a voice. Even democracy and literature do this – remember the margins.
Pilgrim Passport
This book was one of 40 new works created in response to the Bodelian Library in Oxfords’s collection of medieval books and manuscripts, and chosen to accompany their 2018 exhibition ‘Redesigning the Medieval Book’.
Marie Curie
The format of this book was tested during a Top Shed residency,
and seemed just right to illustrate some facts about the inspirational life of Marie Curie
Miserable Apparition
Frankenstein’s monster creation does not have a name, but many insulting epithets.
The colour bars reflect the proportion of words for colour in the book.
Covers
Chosen for AMBruno 2018 ‘Cover’.
Gate-fold, the book is the cover, and covers the content which covers every use of the word cover.
Observers Book of Flowers
Screenprinted 8-fold book exploring the meanings of flowers.
Life: A Listener’s Manual
Chosen for the collective AMBruno’s 2021 project ‘Margins’.
All the sounds from Georges Perec’s book Life: A User’s Manual.
The Little Black Book of Llareggub
Dylan Thomas’s Under Milk Wood dissected and lovingly reconstituted.
Posted/Unposted
